Painting Horses -
I’ve been drawing
horses since last 30 years. I always felt a strong need to try to capture their
beauty, power and spirit. Just trying to do so is pure bliss.
When I look at
a horse, I see many things. I see strength and grace. I see an amazing balance
of powerful muscle and delicate bone. I see soulful eyes and magnificence.
I also see a world of
color. Color in horses’ many different coats. Color in how light and
shadow Interact with their coats. And
color in their surroundings.
Painting with water color allows me to capture horses in a realistic way while
still maintaining a painterly look and feel. And it allows me to express their
beauty and spirit in vivid colors that are almost pure pigment. I hope my
paintings share a bit of this joy with you.
Painting Cars –
Cars, I have chosen as representatives of our time. These objects and spaces of everyday life are ordinary and overlooked, yet, in many ways, possess an iconic status in the daily scheme. My interest lies in distilling these elements until only their most essential form remains. One vintage car represent the past of today’s and future cars. A car form becomes a character nowadays and those characters populate the canvases.
